Artist statement

I am an illustrator and I really enjoy the clash of colours in my work. I think colour is the most attractive part of hand drawing. So I will use markers, coloured pencils and crayons as my materials. I am happy to experiment with how to match strong visuals and prefer to explore colour.

I like to draw by hand more than on the computer. Because I can draw and paint not just on paper, but in more places such as fabric, glass, plastic, and printmaking. It's more fun than drawing on a board all the time. As well as these techniques on a flat surface, experimentation with materials such as heat shrink, clay, foam, wool, etc., is necessary, they can be combined and pieced together and put into my work to make it look richer. I like to document the relationship between people, between people and society.

My portfolio needs to visually show these elements, for example, the phenomenon of a woman being gazed at by a man. I translate the discomfort in this experience into a physical object so that people can see it and guess what I am trying to say.

There is also the phenomenon of parents using their children to garner traffic in the media, with a satirical pamphlet to remind people to resist this bad trend.

My third project is about the 24 solar terms, a Chinese tradition, combined with my own pet as the main character to introduce it. I want more people to understand some of our culture and appreciate the differences between different countries.

Firstly, I want the audience to feel the visual beauty and impact of my work.

The second thing is the meaning conveyed in the content, and I hope that in this way I can bring more people's attention to some issues that we would otherwise overlook. I make these things by experiencing different things in life that give me feelings, and then record them in my paintings at any time. I hope that the viewers will see and feel like it.
